Updates for October 2024

Easter egg hunts are back! We've started updating the info for this year. Unfortunately MOST wait until the last minute (often just a week before) to publish their dates, times and details. We're updating their information daily as it comes in. We expect pages to be up to date by mid-March.

When we CONFIRM an event for 2024, the date will be highlighted in pink, like this passage to make them easy to find as you scroll down the page.
Hunts that were held in the past year or 2 but not yet confirmed for this year are in orange.
The ones NOT in either orange or pink are more dubious - held in the past but not confirmed in the past few years, so just our best guess! These you must call or email to confirm before you go.

Parking will be in the front of the Town Building and at the Archives lot on Dunbar Hill. The back road will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event to keep our egg hunters safe!
Come inside the building when you arrive! Visit our face painter, vendors, and check out all of the cool crafts!
Wait inside until the hunt begins. The start of the hunt will be announced and the rope dropped at EXACTLY 10:00am.
Bring your own egg hunting basket!!
All eggs must be emptied and returned in the collection areas. Please do not take the plastic eggs home with you, just the goodies inside.
When the hunt is complete stay for crafts, food and face painting. Be on the lookout for EB who will be there for photos and to say hi!
Newport's Parlin Field Annual Easter Candy Drop - Easter egg hunt, Airplane egg drop
Parlin Field, 14 Airport Rd, Newport, NH 03773. Event date and time: In previous years, it was held on Friday before Easter Sunday, so it may be held on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, at 10:30 am. Held at Parlin Field, on the turf runway by the North Newport Covered bridge. The runway is seeded with several thousand Easter eggs and 5 aircraft drop several hundred bags of candy from them. This has become a favorite event for the pilots and the community. Partnering with the Newport Recreation Department.
